Data protection

The operator of these pages and apps (the “Service”) takes the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data as confidential and handle it in compliance with statutory data protection requirements and this data protection policy.

It is usually possible to use our app and our website without providing personal data. If any personal data (such as name, address, or e-mail address) is collected on our Service, this is done on a voluntary basis whenever possible. This data is not passed on to third parties without your express consent.

Please note that there may be security gaps during the transmission of data over the Internet (e.g. in email communication). The seamless protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.

The data for the Service is hosted in Germany (game data and logs: Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen) and the US (newsletter delivery with Mailchimp, The Rocket Science Group LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Suite 5000 Atlanta, Georgia 30308), registered to the Privacy Shield program.

The Service is not doing any profiling.

Cookies

The web pages sometimes use what are known as “cookies”. Cookies do not cause any harm to your computer and do not contain viruses. Cookies are used to make our service more user-friendly, effective, and secure. Cookies are small text files which are stored on your computer and saved by your browser.

Most of the cookies we use are known as “session cookies”, meaning that they are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Other cookies are saved on your device until you delete them. These cookies allow us to identify your browser again the next time you visit the website.

You can set your browser to notify you when cookies are being used and only to permit cookies in individual cases, to prevent cookies being accepted in certain cases or in general, or to automatically delete cookies when the browser is closed. Disabling cookies may limit the functionality of this website.

Server log files

The web page provider automatically collects and saves information in what are known as “server log files”, which your browser automatically sends to us. This information includes:

  • Browser type and browser version
  • Operating system
  • Referrer URL
  • Host name of the computer accessing the website
  • Time of the server request

This data cannot be traced back to any specific person. This data is not combined with other data sources. We reserve the right to analyse this data later if we have any concrete evidence of unlawful use.

Contact form

If you use the contact form to get in touch with us, we save the details from the contact form, including the contact details provided by you, in order to process the enquiry and should we need to follow up with you. We will not pass on this data without your consent.

Newsletter details

If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on the Service or in the app, we require your email address as well as information that enables us to verify that the respective email address actually belongs to you and that you agree to receive the newsletter. No other information is collected. We use this data only to send you the information requested and do not pass it on to any third parties.

You can withdraw your consent to the saving of data, email address, and the use of this information to send the newsletter at any time via the “Unsubscribe” link in the newsletter.

YouTube

Our website uses plugins for the YouTube website, which is owned by Google. The site is operated by YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. When you visit one of our pages that uses a YouTube plug-in, a connection is established with the YouTube servers. The YouTube server is then notified which of our pages you have visited.

If you are logged in to your YouTube account, you grant YouTube permission to link your browsing history directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

For more information on how user data is processed, please refer to YouTube’s data privacy policy: https://www.google.de/intl/en/policies/privacy/

Comment function

When using the comment function on this Service, your comment and information on the time at which your comment was created, your email address and (if you do not post anonymously) your selected username are saved.

Saving of user IP addresses

Our comment function saves the IP addresses of users who make comments. As we do not review comments on our website before they are published, we need this information in cases that require us to take action against commenters when they have committed legal violations, such as cases of libel or propaganda.

Subscribing to comments

As a user of the site, you can subscribe to comments once you have registered. You will receive a confirmation email to verify whether the e-mail address provided actually belongs to you. You can unsubscribe from this function at any time via a link in the info email.

SSL encryption

This site uses SSL encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as the queries you send to us as the site operator. A connection is encrypted when “https://” instead of “http://” along with the padlock symbol appear in the address bar of the browser.

If SSL encryption is enabled, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

Right to information, deletion, blocking

You always have the right to information, free of charge, regarding your saved personal data, its origin and recipient and the purpose of data processing, as well as the right to correction, blocking or deletion of this data. For this purpose and for further questions regarding personal data, you may contact us at any time at the address stated in the legal notice.

You can withdraw at any time your consent by sending us an email.

If you think that the way we process your personal data with the Service is infringing the law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Objection to advertising emails

We hereby object to the use of contact details published in compliance with the legal notice requirements for the purposes of unsolicited sending advertising and information materials. The operators of the Service expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the case of unsolicited delivery of advertising, such as spam e-mails.

Data Protection Representative in the EU

We have a data protection representative in the EU as a point of contact for supervisory authorities and data subjects on all issues relating to EU data protection law:
